An Efficient Distributed Task Offloading Scheme for Vehicular Edge Computing Networks

With the recent advancement of vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) or internet vehicles (IoVs), are getting more powerful and generating huge amount traffic data, including computation-intensive delay-sensitive applications in edge computing (VEC) networks, which difficult to be processed by an individual node. These resource-demanding tasks can transferred another node with idle resources for processing. Due high mobility limited nodes, it is challenging execute lengthy until completion within delay constraint. There a need provide efficient task offloading strategies support these applications. In this paper, distributed scheme proposed select nearby resources, process parallel considering some vital metrics, link reliability, distance, available relative velocity. order complete divided into several subtasks before offloading. The performance evaluated VEC network conditions. Results show that computation achieves better latency, throughput, resource utilization packet delivery ratio than existing schemes.
